About Dr Matt Bray:
Dr Matt Bray is a Rotuman Australian emergency doctor based at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Victoria and currently an OPHA board member. He is a graduate of Monash Medical School and has also completed a Masters in Public Health and Tropical Medicine through James Cook University. He is passionate about all things Pasifika, has been heavily involved in the Rotuman community with respect to language and culture preservation and dance. Professionally Matt is very deeply committed to equity, the advancement of health outcomes for Pasifika people, and building systems that support the thriving of Pacific people across the region. Matt is currently based in Honiara, Solomon Islands, where he’s working at the National Referral Hospital through the Australian Volunteer Program.
About Dr Kuinileti Chang Wai:
Dr Kuinileti Chang Wai is of Samoan–Chinese heritage and currently serves as the Chairperson of the Oceania Pacific Health Association (OPHA). She completed her medical degree at the University of Otago in Dunedin and went on to complete her postgraduate Fellowship and General Practice training in Australia. Dr Chang Wai is a Fellow of both the Australian and New Zealand Royal Colleges of General Practitioners and also holds a Master of Medical Science (Honours) from the University of Auckland. With over 21 years of experience in Primary Health Care across New Zealand and Australia, Dr Chang Wai is passionate about accessible, culturally grounded health services. She is the founder and director of OceanPlus Medical Centre—Queensland’s first Pasifika-owned, Pasifika-driven, and Pasifika-staffed medical clinic.
